How to Update the Canonical Tag on SourceFlow

What Is a Canonical Tag?

A canonical tag is a way to tell search engines which URL is the preferred version of a page when there are multiple pages with similar or identical content. This helps avoid SEO issues like duplicate content penalties and consolidates ranking signals.

📍 Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Log into Admin Panel
Go to your SourceFlow admin dashboard.

  2. Navigate to Content
From the left-hand menu, select Content.

  3. Go to the Page Editor
Click into the page to open its editing options.

  4. Find the Page You Want to Edit
Search for or select the page you'd like to update.

  5. Switch to the SEO Tab
At the top of the editor, click on the SEO tab.
This is where you'll manage your meta tags, including the canonical tag.

  6. Locate the Canonical Field
Scroll to the Canonical input field. It’s under the Keywords field.

  7. Enter Your Canonical URL
Paste or type in the full URL you want search engines to treat as the primary version of the page (e.g. https://www.example.com/services/recruitment).

  8. Save Changes
Be sure to hit Save and Publish.
